wifi problem with yosemite 10.10.2

i still have wifi problem with yosemite 10.10.2. I use D-link Dir615. My ipad and iphone have no problem with this route. My Laptop ( rmpb 2013 early 15 inch ) has no problem with another router TP-Link. I'm just confused why it works so badly with my D-Link!!!!!

I have a Mid-2013 MacBook Air.

It worked well with Maverick.

After I upgraded to 10.10, the WiFi connection was broken randomly for 10+ times every day when I connected to my company WiFi. The WiFi worked well when I returned home, connecting to a Time Capsule.

The problem was still there after upgrade to 10.10.1.

The problem is still here after upgrade to 10.10.2.

Shame on you, Apple.

I am a small business owner, I rely on my Mac for my business. Since the upgrade to 10.10.2 I've been looking at a rather expensive typewriter on my desk !! It is just unacceptable. I've been pushed up through the ranks in apple support and still no fix two weeks later !! I've just turned off my bluetooth and dug out an ANCIENT keyboard and mouse from the attic of my garage. Hooked them up and hey presto working wifi again for the moment !! its beyond frustrating and ridiculous that it doesn't 'just work'. Thats two whole weeks I am behind work wise. I LOVE my iMac, but so so unhappy with Apple right now !!! None of the other fixes worked, I was at the end of my tether so hopefully this will stay working !! Fingers crossed ......

UPDATE: I've added back in my bluetooth keyboard, leaving the 'magic mouse' off and disconnected and still using a USB tethered mouse and wifi still seems to be working.....

Tuesday or Weds night my BT Infinity (UK Fibre optic) router - that was installed summer 2014 (so latest and greatest) seemed to crash - flashing orange light - i turned the router off at the mains and back on again - 3 days later, zero wifi issues with Yosemite - also, the power button seems to be sleeping the mac again! YAY!

Now all i need is for it to not default to my secondary screen as the primary display.

Perhaps a typical turn it off and on again approach may work for others - could be sync issue with the router

Hi!,

I have been with my solutions throughout the month of February, with bluetooth on, off, etc. Put the iMac oriented South to North, it is a joke.

Yesterday I installed an image of Mavericks (from USB downloading the image from work). It looks a little old, but the connection is solid as a rock. Wifi is also much faster.

I have two complete installations, all my photos (my fault for not doing backup) lost, much frustration and a few hours lost in something that should only happen in the world of the PC.

I have had this problem with my iMac with 5k display. Worked fine with 10.10.1 but immediately lost connection upon upgrading to 10.10.2, working sporadically ever since.

Many hours spent talking to AppleCare. Clean installs didn't work, but internet worked fine in 'safe' mode so points to a problem with the operating system.

Finally spoke to a representative today who admitted they were aware of a small number of issues with the update and asked me to supply diagnostic information. I'm hoping for a new update sooner rather than later to try and fix this...

our issue, where it randomly hangs, has been proven to be Yosemite 10.10.1 and 10.10.2. We took 50 mac laptops, all running different versions of code from 10.8.x up. Same access point, a top of the line Cisco 3702 enterprise class access point with a 21 dB signal. Signal strength is not the issue. All except those running 10.10.1 and 10.10.2 had no issues and ran great. Those running 10.10.1 and 10.10.2 would hang at random times. We measured for interference in the area, none that could cause this. Also, we were less that 10 feet from the access point. It has to do with the network stack within the Wi-Fi shim that was reworked and redesigned in Yosemite.

Hope this helps,

MC

I'm experiencing the same issues with the latest update - Internet connection is extremely slow & drops out on my Macbook despite all my other wi-fi devices working perfectly. I've tried some of the online fixes without much success & all the Mac diagnostics come back normal, the only thing so far to make a difference is turning Bluetooth off, which is super irritating as it makes my apple magic mouse completely redundant. Really hoping Apple fix this soon........

Hello, so, as mentioned I had this issue in 10.10.2 (very intermittent internet connection, unable to connect to network etc). Deactivating bluetooth solved it (of course you then need wired mouse and keyboard), but on updating to 10.10.3 this does now (and I say this cautiously) seem to have fixed the problem. I am currently browsing happily with bluetooth on... let's hope it lasts.

I fixed the problem in my Mac Pro.

These were the steps I followed:

- reinstalled Yosemite twice. This didn't help because Apple force all the updates to be included in any new installation, including the one that breaks the WiFi.

- tried to install Windows 7 from a DVD. I couldn't really pass from the initial screen because the mouse and keyboard didn't work, but I'm mentioning this because I can't tell if this had any effect on the network card.

- installed Windows 8 with Boot Camp

- formatted everything again and reinstalled Yosemite 10.10.3, the connection is perfect for 4 days in a row

I'm still having a hard time to believe Windows fixed a Mac Pro, but I'm not the first one who tried and was successful.

Hope this helps someone

I tried for four days to fix my wi-fi problem (won't connect and sloooow) and finally found a site regarding a conflict with Bluetooth PAN. Go to system prefs/network and delete "Bluetooth PAN" and press "Apply". Now here's the thing! Click the "Add new service" +, write in "Bluetooth PAN", apply and again delete it. Apply again. Seems there is a hidden Bluetooth PAN in Yosemite, I wish I had the site address still. MacMini 10.10.4. I don't need the Bluetooth connectivity on my desktop so It works for me.
