Q: iPhone 6 plus Hand pain after use

Has anyone else experienced hand pain after using the iPhone 6 Plus?

My husband and I both got new phones this month and I had the 4S while he had the 5 prior to now having these monster 6 Pluses.  We both have experienced hand pain recently, we both think it's from the new phones.  My wrists ache sometimes and my fingers will sometimes go numb after using the phone.  I usually hold it with both hands and use my thumbs to text, if I'm playing a game I'll hold the phone with one hand and use the other to tap the screen. If I use my phone on my desk (not holding it, just having it in front of me, taping it with my fingers) I don't experience hand pain. I'm curious to see if anyone else out there has the same issues.

Remember the John Birch Society? I grew up in LA and they madly fought fluoridation hence the great line in that movie.

There is no controlled testing that has been done on the hypothesis and it isn't even remotely based upon science, in fact it is largely ignorant of scientific fact.

It is like the essential oils fad, the mother gives her child some oils when they have a sore throat and fever, after a few days the child gets better. A few of their friends do the same. And with this anecdotal evidence, and totally ignoring the immune system, they come to the conclusion that the oils cured their child. Even better than antibiotics. As a great person who posts here has often repeated, the plural of anecdote is not evidence.

Do you know the science of wifi, EMF, and geo-spatial data collection signals?  Is there a reason those can not be absorbed in tissue?

Regardless of who is right or not the fact is you can't trust any system based on greed. Whether it be a cell phone company or a doctor prescribing promoted medications. We are ignorant of the effects of cell phone radiation but who knows what is good or bad. It is better to be safe than sorry.  To really talk about this is very helpful but we are all just seeking advice and help. Any negative comments doesn't help anyone here.

Do you know the science of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation?

Yes, there are reasons that is not possible and yes it has been scientifically tested.

No, we are not ignorant of effects of cell phone radiation. You may be but others are not. My doctor doesn't prescribe "promoted" medications.

No it is not helpful to talk about unproven theories that are not based in scientific fact and this is not the place to discuss them. There are many sites for people into this kind of pseudo science but this in not it. Posts here that don't agree with you are not "negative".

None of us would of actively sought out this message board if nothing was occurring to our hands when using the iPhone. Something is causing pain or tingling in my hands after i use the phone. I have never looked dup this problem with any other cell phone i have owned. So most of us here aren't claiming to know something we don't but we are aware of the fact that something different is occurring because of this phone use.

IF yo look at how many points you have by your name Deggie  it means you are very active on this message board thing for Apple. You obviously do this for a job or entertainment. The rest of us have few points which means we are actually here seeking advice and help for this specific topic. Anyone else reading this must ask what agenda you are trying to pass here.

This is why there are doctors. Given the larger size of the iPhone 6 Plus it is much more likely to be tendonitis or nerve inflammation due to the stretching of the hand.

I have no agenda here, you are the one who seems to have an agenda given your comments of cell providers being greedy, doctors promoting drugs, etc.

This is a user-to-user technical support site and I like to help people with their issues and I also learn new things by participating here. If I knew of a technical problem that would fix a technical problem you have with your iPhone I would suggest it. The only thing I can suggest is that you see a doctor (I know a really good hand specialist) about your problem. Or sell your iPhone and get a smaller phone or a different phone. Or better yet, given your beliefs and agenda, sell your iPhone and do not replace it. Get rid of the WiFi equipment in your house, don't use a microwave, do not use a modern television and stay out of stores that use WiFi or iBeacons.

    Problem solved.

No one said they doubted your symptoms at all. And we do not doubt that those who have found relief from therapies such as massage are actually getting relief.

We are trying to point out to you and anyone else who happens to read these forums coming here for similar problems is that the idea that it has anything to do with radiation, emissions, or other emanations of energy from the phone is pure bunk and is not based in science in any way. In fact, science has shown over and over again that such 'sensitivity' does not exist. Double-blind studies have proven that those who claim to suffer ill effects from exposure to electronic devices, etc. do not. The association they have made is purely in their minds. They can not tell if a device is present or whether it is on or off when they can not see it.

I have constant pain, tenderness and tingling in my left hand since buying my 6S. I've owned every iPhone made and this has never happened with any of them. I'm sure it's why Apple came out with the SE. They know about the hand injuries. I'm going to exchange and I don't want to pay extra to do it.

Apple didn't release the iPhone SE just because a handful of users complain of hand pain. The iPhone 5s was available when you purchased your 6s and you had 14 days to return it for something different. The iPhone SE is simply an upgrade but Apple has had a 4" iPhone in their line up for several years now so the SE definitely wasn't released just for hand pain.

That aside, if you want to exchange it, go to the Apple Store and explain the situation and see what they are willing to do. They will be much more sympathetic to your situation and give you the best options if you don't go in with a demanding attitude.

Doesn't exist??? Reminds me of that Groucho Marx joke with the punch line "Who am I going to believe, you or my lying eyes?" In this case, lying hands.
