Memory problems with iPhone 5S (Please Help)

I've been having problems with my iPhone 5S recently, whenever I plug in my phone on iTunes it says I have over 1000 photos, which all together is 3.5gb when I only have 300 photos in my camera roll, I also have my recently deleted folder emptied as well.

Another issue is the 'other' section which says there is 8.6gb in there, is there an easy way to get rid of the other stuff and what is inside?
