Early 2011 MacBook Pro screen backlight out

The backlight on the screen stopped turning on after letting the battery run all the way down. I can see the screen functioning with nothing illuminating it, it's just super dim. I attempted the reset of the PRAM and RAM and have looked through countless articles of what the problem may be, ranging from ribbon disconnect to a problem with the capacitor in the logic board. Are these repairs possible without replacing the entire screen? Are they an easy fix? I'd appreciate any help!
