how do I update ipod touch 64 to ios 11.4
need help updating an ipod touch 64 gig from version 8 to IOS 11.4 it will not sinc. keeps flashing message to update to higher version
this is getting frustrating to the point of going to the apple store

There is no iOS 11.4. You appear to need to update the version of iTunes on the computer; if you're on a Mac and running 10.6 or newer, choose Software Update or App Store from the Apple menu and check for updates until there are none available.

Just what model iPod do youhave?
What iOS version is on the iPod? 8.1.3 is the latest and is only aplicable to the 5G
A 4G can go to 6.1.6
A 3G to 5.1.1
A 2G to 4.2.1
A 1G to 3.1.3
For iOS 8 you need:
