Jan 29, 2015 3:56 PM in response to rynjby Niel,It's asking you to update the ARD client, which is part of Mac OS X. Unless you're part of an organization which uses the ARD server application, you can just ignore the update.

Feb 1, 2015 8:54 AM in response to Nielby deltone,is ARD an integral part of OS X? I never installed ARD, as well, and I'm wondering if I can delete it from my systemm? It SOUNDS like an increased vulnerability via the "remote" in the name. Is it?
Thanks -
Feb 4, 2015 11:35 AM in response to deltoneby jaredfs,It is a component of the operating system. It should not be removed unless you know what you are doing. It does not however pose any threat to you unless you allow remote management in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.
