Formatted wrong external hard drive

So, yeah... huge careless mistake on my part. I had 2 external hard drives connected to my mac and clicked the wrong one to format.

So, the hard drive i formatted was a 2TB WD Passport (with two 1 TB partitions). As soon as I realized (a second later) that I hit the wrong drive, I disconnected it hoping that I saved it. Unfortunately, I don't need to tell you that it didn't.

So now, I can see the hard drive on disk utility but it doesn't mount.

Trying to verify/repair the disk gives the above results.

I saw another forum where someone was helping someone else with a similar problem and they requested the following info, which may or may not be helpful, but here it is:

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help.

P.S. there is no back up (this is the back up)

I suggest downloading the trial copy of Prosoft Engineering's DataRescue 4 and see if it can scan the drive. If it successfully scans the drive and finds your files & folders, you can purchase the software and use it to recover your data. I have used DataRescue 4 and previous versions for many years and have been able to recover a number of corrupted drives. Here's hoping it works for you.
