iMac 5k Screen Problems

Imagine my shock and horror at seeing a vertical line just pop up on the screen of my brand new iMac 5k today!

The line is persistent between restarts and I suspect a fault in the display. The machine is barely a week old and I was hardly expecting this after forking out over $3000 for an i7 model with 4Gb of graphics.

My freelance iOS development career is going into free fall. I don't want to continue using the machine because it's faulty and needs to be fixed. However, I live in Paraguay and bought the machine from the U.S. Apple Store and got it delivered via courier. It's going to cost a fortune sending it in for repairs (under the default one year warranty).

Anyone experiencing this? I haven't found any mention of iMac 5k screen problems on Google.

If anyone has experience with getting this type of fault fixed, please share it with me cause if I send it back, it's going to set me back lots of time and money.

Study the terms of the warranty. You should find you are not responsible for carriage charges. Telephone the help line also given under warranty. There should be little or no charge for that either.
