Apple 13" MacBook Pro retina (late 2013) switches off when i turn it on. when i force it to turn on and it boots up its very slow and drags alot. What would be the solution to this problem

I have a 13" late 2013 MacBook Pro Late 2013 which switches off when and turn it on soon after the startup sound. when i force it to switch on by pressing the power button for more that 5 seconds it boots up but its very slow and drags like there is something wrong with the graphics cards. also when i close the lid and open its wakes up and switches off immediately. please advise what the problem could be
Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.
