Q: HELP! My storage bar is completely full but there's still a lot of space in my computer.

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I noticed that my storage bar on "About This Mac" was completely full and I started deleting some apps. For my surprise, the storage bar didn't move at all and it actually grew on the Apps Section. Nevertheless, it says that I have 140.8 GB free of 250.14 GB, but the storage bar says that I have 259.7 GB only in apps... For me that doesn't make sense. Does anybody know what's happening? I would really appreciate if you could help me

MacBook Pro: (Retina, Mid 2012)

OSX Yosemite (Version 10.10.1)

Processor: 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

   Re-index Macintosh HD.

   Spotlight reindexing will take a while to finish.

   System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy

   http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409

   You will see a new category “Other” in the Storage Display.

      About “Other”:

   http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202867

Note:
If you don’t have Macintosh HD icon on the desktop,

Finder > Preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop:

Enable “Hard disks”.
