Apple, please add this. An ambient outside temperature and weather sign in the iPad upper bar makes lots of sense (location tracking). Small convenience that yield customer delight. More devices sold. Enrichment of lives and Apple wealth!!!

With Windows Phone and Android there is no swiping to see the weather; the weather is your lock screen (amongst other notifications). The temperature would be nice to see without having to swipe or scroll. It's a minor inconvenience but it'd be nice to just tap the home button and not have to do anything else, maybe make the widgets the actual lock screen.

I haven't missed the point. The point is that it isn't available as you ask right now. So I provided the information to the poster that I responded to. You have the option, as the others, to provide feedback to Apple to let them know you would like something different with the link provided.

Since this was posted in January, Apple has added this possibility with iOS 10.

Swipe all the way to the right to bring up the Notification center. Scroll all the way to bottom to find the "edit" button. Tap it, to open the Widgets menu. Scroll through the list if Widgets until you find Weather and tap on the ➕ sign to add it to the active widgets.

Weather will now appear on the notification screen when the phone is locked. Just swipe to the right once to bring up the widgets.

Apple- Please add this feature!

My gracious. Read the post just above yours. You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum. If you wish to tell Apple to add it, then use the feedback link that Idris provided. http://www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate subject area.

Chris, My gracious, you are missing the point, when i tilt my phone i want to see the outside temperature, i don't want to have to swipe. Bill

You cannot currently add the Weather to the main lock screen.

You can add it to the Notification screen which you can get to with a single swipe from left to right from the lock screen. If that is too much work for you, or are unable to do so for some reason, then you can provide Apple feedback about it and hope they change it in a future iOS update.

After swiping down, then swipe to the right, or if you just check the lock screen, swipe to the right and you will see the Today screen. At the bottom of that screen there is a button EDIT. Tap that, and you can add or remove widgets from the Today screen. Weather is one of the choices there.

If you want the weather and temperature on a Apple device lock screen i’m afraid to say you have a buy an Apple Watch which supports this feature.

That is so not true. I have weather information as well as other information displaying at my lock screen on my iPhone.

Plus, it does not appear on the "lock screen" of an Apple Watch, it will display on the face of an Apple Watch if you configure a complication to display it. Make sure you understand what you are talking about before you respond.
