I understand that you are receiving USB related alerts on your vehicle. I would recommend making sure you have music on your device, power cycle your iPod, try unplugging/plugging the cable and try using additional Apple branded Lightning cables. If the issue still persists see the additional troubleshooting steps in the article below.
