ipod touch 4th gen compatible

so I just got my new iPod touch and I'm a kid and can't afford the new ones so I gor a used 4, then when I tried to download apps like Crossy road it wouldn't let me because I don't have iOS 7, how do I get ios seven on my iPod? Thanks
