Q: Some one else's photos in my photo stream. Could this be from a past device that was stolen?

Hello,

I was using an iPad today and took a screenshot. Looked into the photo app to retrieve the screen shot and saw 999 photos in the photo stream from some one else. I use the ipad for testing so I am not taking any photos with it and it is also my only iOS device. Could there be a glitch in the photostream app? Or could the photos be adding to my account from a prior iOS device? My wife's iPhone "disappeared" a little over a year ago and was tied to my account. We tried texting it and calling it multiple times and never got a response. Looking at the photo map, some of the pictures take were in close proximity of where the phone "disappeared". Could it be that the photos are coming from the stolen iPhone?

Any ideas here?

Good day Porkzirra,

It sounds likely that the missing device is adding photos to the photo stream. I would suggest that you change the password for the Apple ID you are using immediately, as this article suggests -

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

In particular this section -
If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your missing device
If you didn't turn on Find My iPhone before your device was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate your device. However, you can use these steps to help protect your data:

Change your Apple ID password. By changing your Apple ID password you can prevent anyone from accessing your iCloud data or using other services (such as iMessage or iTunes) from your missing device.
Change the passwords for other internet accounts on your device. This could include email accounts, Facebook, or Twitter.
You may also want to enable two-step verification for additional security for your Apple ID. See this article -

Also, is there any way to figure out the device ID(sn/uid) w/o the device in hand? Maybe through iTunes or my Apple account?

You may be able to get the serial number of your iPhone from a number of places, including iTunes. See this article for the possibilities -

Yeah, none of those options work. The device went missing a little over a year ago. So there is no way to track devices that have been used on my account?

Maybe the photo data could contain a unique ID for the device?
