Q: restoring iCloud Back up

Hi,

I purchase and Iphone 6+ last week and set it up and started a restore from ICloud back up.  My phone is still restoring from the same back up a week later, is this right?  Did it stall, and if so how do i get it started again.  This doesn't seem right especially when my wife's phone restored overnight.

    Hey sbmah77,

Thanks for the question. The following resource provides steps if you are experiencing issues while restoring your device from an iCloud backup:

Get help restoring from an iCloud backup - Apple Support

    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201418

The restore process is taking a long time to finish

The amount of time needed by the restore process depends on your geographical location and the speed of your Internet connection. Even with a fast Internet connection, the restore process might take 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte to complete.

If you're traveling between countries, the restore process might take longer than usual. iCloud is tuned to provide the best service when you're in the geographical location from which you most frequently connect to the Internet. When restoring from an iCloud backup, iCloud is tuned to provide the best service in the geographical region you were in when you created the backup.

Note: if it seems like the restore process is indeed stalled, you can erase your device and attempt to restore it again.

    Thanks,

    Matt M.
