iMac 5K and iPhone charging problem

Hi, I have the same problem, have you found a solution?

I have the same issue, not always but it's very annoying.

iMac 21.5-inch Late 2013, Mac OS X (10.10.4)

iPhone 6

I have this same problem, it's usually fine when my phone is charged over 50%. If my phone is under 50% it just keeps failing repeatedly. I've tried switching cords and usb ports, but the problem is consistent.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

iPhone 6 plus

The problem also happens on other devices (5, 5s, iPad3) when I connect them, with the same conditions generally being true.

I have this issue also with my iMac 10.9.5 and the iPhone 6, iPhone 5S.

Here it also start-up iTunes when it see the iPhone, but immediately it is unusable, can't close down and also the charging symbol

on the iPhone is blinking fast on/off

If somebody found a solution let me know. Thanks

Mine does this too! iPhone 6 plus, genuine apple cable and brand new power book 15" retina. Has anyone got a solution? It's bugging the **** out of me!

The most efficient way to charge an iPhone or iPad is to use the charger that came with the device and plug that into a known good wall outlet.

I have the same problem; I went to Apple Store to check what is wrong with the iMac. After test, they said there is no problem with the iMac, but the lightning cable does, so they replaced the cable, and the problem solved.

I'm not convinced with the solution since all cables work fine when I use power adapter, or with Windows PC, but not my iMac. right now I have 2 cables (almost new) and not working at all.

I realized that both cables are not working at all, seems the iMac damage these cables. I'll visit Apple Store this weekend and explain the problem, hoping they can help.

FWIW, a cable or its connectors can be defective or fail but a computer can not "damage" them.

Same issue here, brand-new original Apple MD818ZM/A cable, iPhone 6 MG482ZD/A iOS 10.3.3, iMac Retina 5K 2014 macOS 10.12.6.
