iOS 8.1.3 install on iPad 2 causes "insanity"

I updated my iPad 2 Wi-Fi to 8.1.3 yesterday. Since then my iPad only runs for 90 seconds before it does a restart. It does the 90 second run/restart loop continuously. It is iPad insanity.

I have set my iPad into recovery mode and did a iOS 8.1.3 software re-install. The same problem occurred after the re-install.

I decided to downgrade to iOS 8.1.2.

The 90 second run/restart loop behavior continues.

What next steps can I take to get my iPad to work?

After downgrading and not resolving my problem, I "slept on it". I concluded this isn't an operating system problem.

While packing for a trip Wednesday night, my iPad slipped off my suitcase and fell to the floor I did a quick check to see that it was still working and was relieved to see it was. With that is mind I dismissed the fall.

I plugged it in to recharge that night. I noticed that the iPad didn't fully recharge, so when I got to my destination on Thursday I choose to install the iOS upgrade hoping it would solve my battery problems. My usage in each case after dropping the iPad was short, occurring during the 90 seconds when the iOS was running. Consequently I didn't notice the odd behavior until I tried to use the iPad after the iOS 8.1.3 upgrade.

Conclusion: iPads can become "insane" if you drop them. I'll bring it to the local Apple store where it can hopefully be repaired.

Despite OP's apparent physical issue, as noted elsewhere above the problem with iOS 8 on iPad 2 is very real, disturbing, and debilitating. My iPad 2 is now little better than a Kindle, all I can accomplish without excruciatingly long delays is read files already loaded on the device. a cynic would say its apple's way of forcing periodic hardware sales. My continuing experience with this platform is making me more cynical. If I didn't already have a functioning laptop I'd be shopping for a Surface or Yoga and recycle the iPod.

I cannot understand the various postings on this forum. Had I read this rubbish before I upgraded I would not have done it. Now my iPad2 has iOS 8.1.3 it is faster. It does not freeze and it integrates with my iPhone and MacBook pro. Forums are not useful when misinformation is spread around. My advice to anyone with an iPad 2 is to upgrade asap and don't miss out on the improved performance and improved functionality.

EEveryday there are many new reports on this site alone of problems with ios 8. It is safe for me to say that the reports of troubles here are but a small representation of those affected. While there are a few here that try in earnest to try and help there are many more that would rather place blame on the frustrated owners of the devices. From the most obvious posts from high level appleheads posting under an alias to the "my ipad works fine how dare you suggest it be the fault of ios"', does little more then degrade the integrity of the site. What a shame.
