Q: my imac keeps restarting

I turn my imac on and the logo of the apple comes up and then few moments later the computer restarts it self and does that all over again and again I do not know what to do as I cannot log into the computer because it restarts before logging in thing comes up. Do I have to take it to the apple store or is there a way to fix this at home. Please help!!
