Q: Bootcamp defekt?

Hallo zusammen,

Win7Professional SP1

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Just to clarify, is it a MacPro (Tower MacPro) or a 2010 MacbookPro.

From Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems - Apple Support the correct version for a MacPro is Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621 for 64-bit Windows 7. Is your Windows 32-bit or 64-bit? W7 32-bit requires Boot Camp Support Software 4.0.4033.

Yes you got everyting right and discribed just what I did!

(Tower) Mac Pro (Mid 2010) updatet with a Nvidia GTX 680 + Win7SP1 64Bit + BootCamp 5.1.5621 = Bluescreen just after installing BootCamp

It shows more than your drives.

    1. Since you are installing Windows on disk0, remove all other internal disks from the MacPro drive trays.

    2. Remove RAID card(s) if you can.

    3. Remove all external disks.

    4. Use the built-in Optical drive for Windows Media.

    Please see

Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions - Apple Support

Boot Camp doesn't support RAID configurations - Apple Support

From Boot Camp: Solve partition creation problems

    • If you have a Mac Pro with more than one internal disk and you want to install Boot Camp on a disk that isn’t in the first hard drive bay, remove the drives in the lower-numbered bays. You can reinstall the drives after you install Boot Camp.

Mac Pro (Mid 2012 and earlier): Frequently Asked Questions about the Mac Pro RAID Card and Xserve RAID Card - Apple Supp…

Question: Why can't I install Boot Camp on my Mac Pro or Xserve that uses a RAID?

Answer: Boot Camp does not support the installation of Windows onto a Mac using hardware or software RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Drives). Boot Camp is not supported on the Xserve with or without the Xserve RAID Card installed.

Without the Software Raid Drives connected everything runs smooth. Great, thanks!

Does that mean, I have to unplug them everytime I start Win7?

Another strage thing is that the installation taks 60Gb of the partition, but i can only find 18Gb data on it.

"Auslagerungsdatei" (Pagefile?) is set to 16GB, it should be a total of max. 34Gb!?

I did ccleaner and delited everything in Windows.old

    Still no effect.

No. You have to unplug them only for the initial installation. Please put them back, and test.

What is the size of hiberfil.sys? Can I suggest using https://windirstat.info if you want classification of your files?

Booting with my internal software raid is not possible.

Win fails to start. Just black screen, or once a second Win icon and then automatic resart into MacOS.

Restarting Win without Raid afterwards, leads to system repair screen, but works after that.

I ran windirstat. It shows where the memory went:

    Dateien/pagefile.sys      16Gb

    Dateien/hiberfil.sys        12Gb

    found.000/Dateien/file0000.chk      16Gb

    Windows     14,5 Gb

Win looks good, what about the others?

How to get rid of them?

Thanks so far for your help!

You cannot remove pagefil.sys or hiberfil.sys. The found000 directory is a Lost and Found directory. Do you still have this file after a chkdsk is run?

So it is correct that Win 7 uses 42 Gb disc space? Wow...

    What is chkdsk?

Commandline would not let me start chkdsk... but the found.000/Dateien/file0000.chk vanished anyway. No Idea why.

    Strange thing is:

WinDirStat tells that BootCamp Drive has now 46Gb in use

But Windows still thinks it´s 67Gb...

No idea whay I can not use my raid drives?

There should be messages in Event Viewer for the files.

How was the RAID set created?
