my mac book air was stolen

My macbook air was stolen and it was not connected with my 'find my iphone' application. Local legal agences can hardly help to find it. Is it possible to find or connect mac book to 'find my iphone' if i have all documents and the box for mac? Thank you.

There is a Find My Mac application. But it must be turned on before the Mac is stolen. This is completely analogous to Find My iPhone or Find My iPad, which must also be turned on before the device is stolen.

So now that your Mac has been stolen, it's too late. But hopefully you'll turn it on for your replacement Mac.
