Trying to use military cad card to log into AKO but can't.

I am currently in the military and up until this point haven't had a mac. I've tried using my cac card reader with my military ID to log into AKO but it

just goes to a screen saying that safari can't open the page.

Ive tried military cac but idk really what to download I've downloaded a bunch of stuff and still nothing.

I have also tried the apple manual page where it tells you step by step how to install the smart cards but when i use the terminal like it directs i don't get

the same response as it says i should.

I have a MAcBook Pro (retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1

Some sort of step by step help would greatly be appreciated.
