My iPhone is not charging.

I tried using a wall outlet, my computer, and I tried restarting my phone. I've used the cable to charge my phone before, and the phone isnt dead, it's powered on still. Any solution?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2, 8GB

The oft repeated suggestion that perhaps there is a lump of fluff rammed in the charging port of the phone, which could be carefully picked out with a wooden toothpick or similar?

My phone would not charge in a regular outlet, but would charge if connected to a computer or in my car, using Apple and non-Apple chargers. I spent 2 hours waiting for a "Genius" at the Apple store yesterday, who said my non-Apple charger must have fried my phone. I told him that it was Amazon Basics lightening cable that is Apple Certified. He said Apple does not certify a third party's product. I then spent a couple minutes on Google and discovered that 1) the charging issue was a software issue, not a lightening port issue, and a hard reset solved the problem in about 1 minute!, and 2) Apple does certify third party chargers. Some "Genius", "Moron", would be more accurate.
