How to change tab width in Safari 7
How can I change the wide tab width back to narrower tabs earlier Safari versions
iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
Unfortunately, in the newer Safari versions the only way to shrink the tab width is to open multiple tabs.
