How do I get rid of the recents floating behind my apps in OS8.3?

In updating to OS 8, I've noticed that any recent calls or texts now show up in boxes "floating" behind my apps when I double click the home button to close apps out. How can I remove some or all of the recent boxes. The list is getting longer every time I call or text!

There IS a way to clear the recently updated apps list without waiting the 2 or so weeks that Bob mentioned. The trick is to advance the date on your device by one month under Settings/General/Date & Time. Next turn OFF "Set Automatically". Now advance the date by one month. Exit, then access the App Store, then tap the "Updates" button. The recently updated apps list will vanish. Now go back to Date & Time and re-enable the "Set Automatically" setting. Note that this will only clear what is already in the list. Any future updated apps will need to be cleared in the same way or just wait for them to drop off by themselves.

I agree that this is a silly feature. 😐

Aloha SergZak.. i'll have to leave the date changing you suggested to Courcoul, I'm afraid I'll confuse my iPad making a trip to the Apple Stoes necessary.

I did find another solution to recents. Instead of turning it off I added some of my favorite photos to my contacts, now I have a mini photo show in my app preview(app switcher). Stay well. Bob.
