I am not a Sky TV user but have purchased a Sky Go monthly package to enable watching of certain shows.
Although I can watch the shows on my iPad, when I select Apple TV in AirPlay I get the message that the content cannot be loaded.
I wonder if Sky restrict streaming to Now TV boxes.
Yes sky go content is blocked from AirPlay, but I'm not sure if that's what you meant to ask. Sky go is for people who have a sky subscription from a satellite service. If you don't want the satellite service you want now TV, which has it's own app on the Apple TV anyway.

Yes - I have signed up to Now TV which I can access from its own app on Apple TV. It is cheaper too !!
It does not disguise the fact that both Sky and its subsidiary Now TV have the most user-unfriendly websites.
I got rid of Sky several years ago because no-one was really watching it and it was costing me about £ 60 pm. I struggled to get them to cancel it and in the end had to cancel my DD, I then had sky threatening all sorts of things because they said I hadn't given proper notice. Signed up for Now TV through their website about 3 or 4 months ago, last month my credit card came to the end of it's valid period, now TV sent me a reminder to update the details which I did within minutes of receiving the email, that night I found the service wasn't working and had to subscribe again which I did through iTunes this time.
When I did have sky installed here some 20 years ago, the dish installer installed my dish behind the line of sight of a tree and it didn't work, I said it was no good and it needed to be fitted to our chimney. He said sky don't let him go higher than 3 meters and that was the best he could do and left.
Yes they are an awful company to deal with, and you've reminded me I need to check I'm not paying twice for the service.
As an aside, I'm still not convinced about NowTVs streaming quality compared to Netflix on my 4-5 Mbps connection, but I have found it easy to make 3 current ATVs use the iTunes NowTv subscription by 'restoring the purchase' or whatever the option is.
I know I've mentioned this before but if you have store credit this will get used first - Apple related things are rarely available discounted, but every few months iTunes gift cards are available at 15-20% off in Tesco, Argos, Boots, Sainsburys etc….I doubt there are many investments currently where you can make your credit stretch by that much.
I currently have a healthy amount of store credit built up, which means I'm getting Sky Movies for about £8 and the Entertainment package for around £5.40 due to credit being purchased when on offer.
The real benefit of signing up for Sky on AppleTV is that cancellation if you need to is via iTunes and therefore devoid of the hassles involved in cancelling the parent product!

If you sign up to the items on AppleTV you can use on up to 4 AppleTVs, but I believe you can later register on the NowTV site allowing you to set up an account to use the streaming on non-AppleTV devices too.
For me the AppleTV option is great as I supply Sky/NowTV with the minimum of details (I assume).
