iMac will not boot completely, screen goes white

While starting my Mac, the apple logo displays and the bar showing pro=gression moves about 1/3 of the way then the screen fades and goes to white. The mouse is visible but the suystem will not boot up. I have tried Disc repair in recovery mode and it says am=ll is OK for the Mac and for the OSX. I am able to get here in recovery mode. When I try to restart it does the same thing over and over. No error message is displatyed at any step.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I Have tried to do all those steps. It will not boot to Safe mode only Recovery mode and then all diagnostics say it is OK. I have reinstalled OS X Yosemite but did not fix it. It is not hardware related either.

I Was told to take my Mac in for service. Did not know others were having same issue? New update maybe? Tech said nothing about that.

Apple fixed this within 5 min when I took the Mac in. It was a file that got moved in e recent update to 10.10.2 and they had to move it back.

I did a safe reboot, followed by a restart and all is now good.

A message appeared following the restart that there was an issue with the Message app and to select the Quit button, which I did. The Message app is the new app that allows access to SMS on all Apple devices.
