Hi all, Please someone let me know I've recently unlocked my iphone 4S (at&t, USA)
using unlock procedure and mailing with the career company -- at&t as I completed
the contract , at&t unlocked my device.
now please explain jailbreak and unlock is different -- now i still need to jailbreak
my iphone even after unlocking it..???

Why do you want to jailbreak it? it is unlocked already. Jailbreaking is a non legitimate way of unlocking your phone and voids the warranty and all future support (including out of warranty) for the jailbroken device.
If you do not understand it, why would you want to do it. The device is unlocked. All jailbreaking will do is expose you to any type of virus, malware, etc. Leave jailbreaking alone. Besides, as FelipeV said, it voids any post-warranty support from Apple.
Jailbreaking is a violation of the software license agreement and cannot be discussed here.
If you jailbreak, you surrender all support form Apple and this forum, and you will likely damage your iPhone, possibly beyond repair.
How to check my iphone 4S is jailbroken -- I've unlocked it using the unlock process provided by the carier at&t.
