Feb 2, 2015 6:10 AM in response to Briansyddallby Angelfyfe,Thanks BrIan but the actual AirPlay icon is gone from the control panel on both the iPhone and the iPad , I tried following Resolve issues with AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring from iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support but I can't as the only way I can turn the Apple TV on is with the AirPlay button on my devices , I'm not the most technical of people but this really has me stumped it worked fine on both devices Saturday and today it is gone.

Feb 2, 2015 8:26 AM in response to Angelfyfeby jzamostny,Thanks very much for writing about this because I have been having the exact SAME problem but at different work locations so, I would love to hear the answer if there is one. I suspect part of my troubles are due to however the IT dept has configured the WiFi at the different locations. I would love to know what the specific WiFi configuration requirements are in order for AirPlay to work with the Apple TV -- to the point where the AirPlay icon appears consistently on my iPad2.
How I've troubleshooted so far: I've made sure that both my iPad and the Apple TV are on the exact same WiFi network. Both devices have been updated and are running current software. The WiFi is functioning. I've tried turning off my both devices and turning them back on again.
Nope. Still no AirPlay option in my control center.
