Q: after updating got error 4005.  Now all I am getting is connect to itunes screen.  Won't let me do anything.

Have you jailbroken either of these devices? Have you used the computer you are trying to update with to jailbreak a device? Have you tried using another computer to do the update? You may have to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device checked, or send the device off to Apple care.

If you don't know what jailbreaking is, then I doubt that you would have done it. It is a software modification. Don't worry about it, but do try another computer. Otherwise you will need to make the Genius Bar appointment.

If you have followed everything in the support document and cannot get it to work, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store.
