SIM FAILURE DUE TO iOS 8

I recently updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1.3 and am now getting a constant SIM Failure notification. I talked to my carrier and they tell me that iOS 8 is not compatible with iPhone 5. After searching the internet I have found out that Apple no longer lets you downgrade back to iOS 7 And I have also followed the very helpful (*not*) tip that all the iPhone moderators keep posting (If you see 'No SIM' alert on iPhone - Apple Support).

Wondering if anyone has found a fix or if Apple is ever going to put out a fix or continue with glitchy software?

If the phone is telling you "Invalid SIM" (if thats what you mean by a SIM failure) it usually means that the SIM is not valid for the phone carrier it is locked to.

Did you buy the phone second-hand ? If YES then the phone was probably Jailbroken by the previous owner to unlock it. The update to 8.1.3 will have removed the jailbreak, thus locking it to the original carrier.
