Apr 14, 2015 11:23 AM in response to pdelby mikeberry123,Yes exactly what happened to me.
iTunes is back in the shape of iTunes 12.1.2!!!
Moral: if you have a problem, do nothing until the situation fixes itself.
(probably doesn't apply universally).

Aug 6, 2015 10:07 AM in response to turingtest2by cbuck1,Turingtest2, your iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) link (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1784) doesn't work anymore. HELP! This iTunes on Win7 issue is driving me nuts!
Thanks,

Aug 6, 2015 10:18 AM in response to cbuck1by turingtest2,No it doesn't. For some reason Apple chose to abandon that one and create a new version of it here:
iTunes 12.2.1 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards)
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1816
I'll will try to maintain updated links in the further information and older versions areas of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
I asked the mods to remove your email address, it will just get harvested by spammers otherwise.

Aug 6, 2015 10:14 AM in response to turingtest2by cbuck1,OMG. I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted trying to reinstall iTunes and with one sweep of your wand, you've solved it! You're a genius! (and I don't mean the kind that hangs out at bars). Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Cheers,

Sep 24, 2015 6:03 PM in response to turingtest2by 002Frank,turingtest2,
Following your suggestions, when I execute the line:
msiexec /i C:\AppleApplicationSupport64.msi /l*v "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Log_AAS64.txt"
installation begins but when nearly complete, reverses itself and fails to complete the installation with the same two error messages shown or referred to elsewhere in this thread and others:
The sole problem appears to be inability to install the 64-bit Apple Application Support program.
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Sep 24, 2015 6:41 PM in response to 002Frankby turingtest2,The message "An error occurred during installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type="win32", version="8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", processorArchitrcture="amd64" ' " may occur because a particular library file is not included in the distribution package supplied with iTunes or won't install for some unspecified reason. Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update before attempting to reinstall iTunes may help.
You could also try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) installer since you have a 64-bit system.

Sep 24, 2015 6:51 PM in response to turingtest2by 002Frank,Thanks, but do you know which of the 3 files at that location to select and install? Surely not all 3?
And, yes, reading your posts I already tried the version for older video cards to no avail.
Again, thanks.

Sep 24, 2015 7:05 PM in response to 002Frankby turingtest2,The one that fits your system. The files are:
- vcredist_x86.EXE = 32-bit
- vcredist_IA64.EXE = 64-bit Itanium Architecture
- vcredist_x64.EXE = 64-bit
I suspect you want the last one.
