FCPX issue with iMac 27 inch (Late 2013) Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M and Yosemite

I don't know of a way for FCPX to trigger a restart of your computer; it's just not really very likely. That doesn't mean it's not happening but I doubt FCPX is the real issue. Head over to the forum dedicated to your MacBook model and search for restart issues. Sorry not to be able to offer an easy solution.

Have you ever been able to use FCP on that MBP? And to make sure we understand what you mean by crash, what happens exactly…for example, does your screen freeze up?

Think you need to start ruling out hardware problems. Running this test would be a good start.

To ask again, have you ever been able to run FCP on your MBP without your machine crashing?
