I just updated to iTunes 12.1.0.71 and now my computer cant see my ipod touch 5. Should show a little ipod icon to click on to connect but id does not show and I can't get it to see my ipod to sync my newest added app1

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
