If you are having issues with the microphone on your iPhone 5s, try these troubleshooting steps:

Test the microphone
To find out if there is an issue with the microphone itself—and not the app you're using or your cellular connection—test the microphone with the built-in Voice Memos app. Speak into the microphone and then play back the recording. You should be able to hear your voice clearly.
Fix common issues
Follow these steps, testing after each with Voice Memos.
- Unplug anything plugged into the headset jack.
- If you're on a call and holding your phone next to your ear, speak into the microphone and make sure you don't block it with your fingers or shoulder.
- If you're using a screen protector or case that covers the microphone, remove it. Clear any debris from the microphones.
- Restart your device.
- Update to the latest version of iOS.
If you've tried these steps and people still can't hear you well on calls, contact Apple Support.

Thanks For The Response... I Tried The Voice Memos App... It Does Not Record The Voice... But When I Tapped Hard Close To Mic It Recorded The Tap Sound... Please Advise What Next?

It sounds like this is a hardware issue. Contact Apple technical support or take your device to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for diagnosis. I Have same problem, sound recorded by voice memo and other apps are very muffled, even not hear at all when I replay the recording, but when I use siri, it catch by voice clearly and understand what I said, also when I'm try to record video, not problems at all, sound are recorded with the video

They change audio ic u22 but 7days used no OK, speaker is good but mic, earpiece and earphone not working.~_~!
