Q: Black screen cant reset or restore??

Got an iphone 5 with an unresponsive black screen.
The sleep/wake button, home button (I think?), and side buttons still seem to be working and the phone is still on and making noises/vibrating when notifications come through.
I've tried resetting (hold home&sleep button in) and restoring via itunes but it says I need to turn 'Find my iPhone' off, which I cant do obviously because the screen is black.

Any solutions/help?

You can log into icloud.com on any computer and turn it off there.

managed to get it to restore now, still black screen and vibrating every 5 or 10 seconds, is this normal?

No it is not normal - Follow the instructions in the link - If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it
If it still is not working bring the device to an Apple store or authorized repair center
