why won't my iPod nono 7th gen hook up to bluetooth on mac OS X

I try to hook up my iPod to my mac but every time i do it says connected then a message pops up and says make sure that iMac is in range and turned on.... its right in front of me ***.... HELP

The Nano only has Bluetooth profiles for A2DP/AVRCP (Stereo Bluetooth and controls) and Low Power Energy (think pulse meter). Nothing else. Your iMac cannot be used as a Bluetooth external speaker under A2DP so what are you trying to accomplish?
