How to use .ts files
I have no control to the generation of this files, but need it converted to a Quicktime format. Is there an utility which this does with the best result? Will use it with DVD Studio Pro, Quicktime Player 7, Toast.

You can use Handbrake to convert them. Also VLC will play those files.
You might try must changing the extension from .ts to .mpeg and see if they will play in QT Player. It's been reported that that will work.
Thank you, handbrake was successful. And so fast with MacPro and Yosemit, it is pleasant!
Always I forget to use my fine tools :-(
A mystery to me are the many formats and containers and codecs and and and… and the question, which one if available gives the best quality. Are there written sources for?

I see in the DVD Studio Manual there are pretty fine explanations; just the english language slows down my reading.
Have fun, old toad, wherever you go, thank you for your help.
