Q: When I input my Apple ID on my iPad to turn in IMessage I get 'activation error' . Help please

When I input my Apple ID on my iPad to turn on my iMessages, I get 'actiavtion error occurred' and it doesn't work. Help please.

Thanks Kappy. Doesn't actually help as I can't turn iMessage off as it instructs, as I cant activate.....all i get is the sign in message and when I input Apple ID it just tells me I have activation error.......
