Feb 6, 2015 1:16 PM in response to LA-Rzrby alex_h1,Hello LA-Rzr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you're trying to delete a song from your iPhone that you have downloaded from the iTunes Store, then I'd like you to please follow the directions below. I want you to please note that if there is a cloud icon with an arrow pointing down next to the song title, then the song is not on the iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Tap the Music app.
- Tap the Songs category.
- Swipe left over the song you want to delete.
- Tap Delete.
View only music that’s downloaded. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store. Under Show All, turn off Music.
iCloud and iTunes Match - iPhone
Cheers,
Alex H.

Feb 6, 2015 11:17 PM in response to alex_h1by LA-Rzr,When I turn off show all music to see only the music that's downloaded it shows 45 of my 500+ songs. These are the songs that played the last time I shuffled through them all. When I show only those 45 songs and try the method you mentioned to delete them by swiping left over it and tapping delete, nothing happens when I try to swipe left - no menu to delete or other choices. Another situation in the case is when I turn show all music back on, those 45 songs that previously were supposed to be on the phone now all have the cloud icon with the arrow pointing down. Under the about section of the phone, it states 45 songs so I guess there are 45 in there somewhere and frankly if I could I would like them gone.

Feb 20, 2015 9:57 AM in response to alex_h1by mooofy, log out of itunes store in settings, wait 10 minutes, then log back in. your storage should go back to what it should have been all along. there is an itunes media caching bug / storage leak in ios 8 (all versions so far), and apple for some reason has decided it isn't worth fixing.
you may have to repeat this again if the storage fills up again
i would urge all ios users to try this trick before spending a ton of time on a full backup/restore
if this trick doesnt work for you, though, a full backup/restore is probably your best bet - and be sure to select the option to encrypt the backup because it will include apps and passwords and make your restoring that much quicker and easier
