There's no edit button anymore, just a select button. But even when you select the books, I can't officially delete them, they just stay there with the downloading sign. And I don't want to hide them, I want to permanently delete them! Is anyone else having this problem? HELP!

If they have the cloud download icon, they are not on your device. You cannot permanently delete purchases, you can only hide them.
