Q: Hyundai Elantra & iPhone 6 BT Issues
I drive a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS which allows for bluetooth pairing with the vehicle for music listening and phone calls. I can make/receive calls just fine and I can listen to my music off my iPhone nicely. However, I can not skip song tracks and song names/artists/albums are not display on the Hyundai radio. I thought I read somewhere that in older versions of iOS Bluetooth AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) was capable but in recent updates only AD2P (Audio Advanced Distribution Profile) is functioning which only allows for sound but not control.
My question is has anyone had this issue and fixed it? Does anyone know if this is an issue with iOS and Apple or an issue with Hyundai's firmware?
Here's my info:
iPhone 6 running 8.1.2
*note no matter if my software was up to date or an update behind I have never had access to controlling the songs via the steering wheel controls or radio controls*
What has been attempted:
- Deleting iPhone from car's memory/turning off vehicle
- Repairing iPhone
- Deleting ELANTRA from Bluetooth list
- Repairing iPhone with ELANTRA
- Factory Reset of iPhone
Thanks,
iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2
