Q: Apple ID sharing...

I have a question about Apple ID sharing with my girls. They are both under my account so we can share iTunes purchases. If they use my Apple ID for iMessage, will they be able to see my iMessages(texts?). One of my daughters said something has been popping up in the corner of her phone if I text someone and it is a mutual friend(like my fiancé). She says she can tell I am texting him, but can't see what I am texting. I obviously don't want my children to see what I am texting. Advice please? If I set up separate Apple IDs for them, will we be able to share purchases? Thanks for your time.

    Howdy twins4me,

I understand the desire to share your iTunes account with your family so you don't have to buy things multiple times.  This can be an issue as you are seeing if you want some things to be separate.

There are a couple ways to handle that.

They could have their own iCloud account but still share your Apple ID for purchases.

Set up your Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support

(See "Use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store purchases".)

But you may want to check out Family Sharing, which may fit your needs better.

    Enjoy,
