Why won't iPhoto work?
Why won't my iPhoto work now that I upgraded to OS X Yosemite software?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
Have you checked the App Store for an update? The current version is 9.6.

Yes it says its current and in order to use the iPhoto app I have to have lion. But I would have never upgraded if I knew it wouldn't allow me to access my photos
Try going to the App Store Purchases tab and see if iPhoto is there. If so download it again. What version are you using?
Version of iPhoto? I had an older version but when I updated my computer to OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 it changed the iPhoto app and it looks differently and won't open.
I have the same problem. It tells me to use upgrader. Did that but it does not work. Really a crummy operating system now. I'm going over to CHROMEBOOK.
