Q: How can I remove synced photos original folder in the PC no longer exists?

I am trying to delete photos from my iPhone, which I had synced previously from a PC. I follow the instructions by deselecting the Sync Photos in ITunes and then choosing Remove photos, but it does not remove the photos from my iPhone. Any advice?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8

Assuming you also clicked "Apply" as instructed in the quote below from iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support

the other thing you can do that has worked for others is to sync a few new photos from the computer to the phone via iTunes and then repeat the instructions below.

To delete synced photos and videos from your device

    1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
    2. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    4. Click Apply.
