iTunes 12.1.0.50 keeps opening and playing music on its own

The same thing is happening to me. It probably has to do with the update, but it's so annoying.

EDIT: I thought I had fixed it, but five minutes later, it reopens and plays a random song. I also turned off Genius, which also fixed nothing. Maybe Apple is punishing me for using Spotify?

I fixed this by turning off home sharing. Go to File > Home Sharing > Turn Off Home Sharing.

Must be the spotify.

Fixed this by restarting my computer. I'm not sure why I didn't try this first.

Any solutions to this. Driving me CRAZY! Especially at night when itunes powers on my Denon receiver and starts blasting music. Bluetooth off, no remotes, just anything connected to airplay starts jamming itunes. Unreal that this is even a problem.

This has been going on since Mavericks an I have wasted so much danged time looking for a solution to no avail.

It happens to lots of people so it's clearly an actual issue .

I moved iTunes to the trash and reinstalled it. Seemed to fix the problem. Certainly not ideal, but it stops the auto play. I don't know if this will solve the issue with bluetooth devices.

It's another Apple INNOVATION: app that keeps reopening itself.

Soon this technology will be applied to Photobooth too.. it will take your picture with "special effects" everytime you sit in front of your Mac and automatically post it on your Facebook timeline 😝

This is happening to me constantly and I've no idea why. I don't have Spotify.

It may be that putting earphones in my MBP causes it?
