Image Capture does not work with Yosemite 10.10.2

I was also having this problem and it turned out to be simply that I was trying to use a firewire cable as I alwasy had with my epson 2450 perfection scanner. When I switched to use a usb cable then is showed up in image capture and scans fine. I am using yosemite 10.10.5

I don't believe you understood the problem, Matt. Like Roobiblue, my scanner is no longer recognized. What that means is that it does not appear in any way, shape or form for me to select in Image Capture. I cannot express the level of my frustration here without violating the terms of usage, but I have spent hours trying to fix and this is beyond the pale.

My MFC is connected to a laptop that is an AV/Print server. Sharing is on and set correctly.

When I delete and re-add the printer/scanner (Brother DCP-7020) Apple wants to update and searches for updated software. It always fails. I have downloaded from Brothers website the drivers and installed them, but to no avail. I have work to do. Apple is not helping.

Other users suggest that Scanner Sharing was removed in the last version of OS X (Mavericks): can't share scanner with yosemite

Does your scanner work with Image Capture when connected via USB?

I have upgraded to 1010.3, and have used Image Capture just the other day, both for watching pictures and for scanning. Scanning is much better than the original programs from HP.

The picture part works just great.

You may look forward to 1010.3.

Actually I got ImageCapture to work with a network connection and a HP Photosmart Plus Print/Scanner. I'm on 10.10.2

Alol of a sudden I'm having similar problems. In my case, the iphone6 shows up in image capture, all the pictures show up, but I can't move or copy them to a folder on my iMac Like I've done for years. Haven't even tried my scanner yet.
