Q: Apple Remote Desktop?

Hi there.

The Updater form the Apple Store is asking me to update the Apple Remote Desktop

But I didn't purchased it and is not in the App folder.

Do you think that someone hacked on my System?

Thanks.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

It's probably asking you to update the client, which is built into all Macs, although not turned on by default. Go to System Preferences - Sharing to see what's enabled. If you have no reason to share files, screen or other resources, make sure all options are turned off.

    Hey Matt.

I've installed the ARD client update and now I have this problem with the Disk Permissions ARDAgent.app it says Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAge nt" has been modified and will not be repaired.

I didn't had that issue before. Do you know if there's a way to revert to the previous client?

    Thanks.

It's not an issue and is normal behaviour as the update would obviously change what was previously there. Disk permissions would see that it had been changed because of the update but will know not to change its permissions as it has no need to. Essentially that is what the log is telling you albeit in what may seem a slightly obscure way to most people.
