Google search on the Safari bar not working
Since installing the latest update (10.10.2), the Google search on my Safari address bar has not been working. Anyone know how to fix this?

Make sure google DNS server settings are set as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , no proxies , location as automatic , security as WPA2 personal , also while setting network wireless network password is to be saved .
And in safari preferences > General > your search engine should be correct .
I have similar issues with Yosemite & now Sierra. (i'm using MBA early 2014, OS 10.12.4).
Google search bar would become unresponsive all of a sudden. If I type something on the search bar, the page will remain as is. No movement whatsoever. Reloading page won't do a thing. Turning wifi connection on/off seems to do the trick, until it becomes unresponsive again.
What happens when you try to use it?
Nothing happened. Nothing would load.
The funny thing is, today it's working..... *shakes head*
having the same problem. Doesn't happen every time. If I type it in the Safari search bar, nothing happens. No notification or progress indicator, nothing. If I go to Google.com and try the search bar on their site, same thing, Safari tries to reload the page and it's just a white screen with Google's header at the top. If I go to Bing.com and try there, everything works fine. So.... wondering if Google is the problem?
Between this and my Google Apps account no longer working reliably in Apple Mail, I am getting a little annoyed with the increasing lack of compatibility between tech companies. They used to all play nice together. Seems Microsoft has picked up on this and is making overtures to befriend Apple users where Google continues to alienate.
I did find some comments in another thread and they are blaming Yosemite and the ongoing issues with the new discoveryd process for DNS.
