how to remove grey border from desktop

Hi,

I'm using Mac os X Yosemite (10.10.2).

I don't know exactly what happened but now I continuously have transparent grey border on my desktop all four sides.

Either I'm using any application or not - in both ways it is always visible.

can you please guide me - how to get rid of this border?

is there any setting or option?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

That border looks like part of the "Show Desktop" expose mode. Somehow it got stuck, maybe. I believe expose runs via the Dock process, so maybe a Dock restart will reset things. You can do that using Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder - find the Dock process and quit it. The Dock will relaunch automatically. Or you could just log out and back in again..
