safari has been hacked w 404 error

I'm running Safari 8.0.3 when i encountered an Error message 404. another window opened with a phishing warning but was screened back. Then

Security Error.

Call helpline 1-855-267-4256 everytime you press OK it just blinks but doesn't let you out. Try quitting restarting App and computer. Still there!

I tried calling the number provided but I couldn't verify that it was an Apple employee

Launch Safari with the Shift key held down. If that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

I got the same 404- error message. After ignoring it for a few days, I hesitantly called the number, introduced himself as MacIntosh IT guy. Told me that this was NOT am infectious problem (e.g. virus), that it was a security bridge and that my network has been hacked by foreign hackers. The whole process is very elaborate and therefore believable. I got transferred over to "white hat" guys who are "ethical hackers" from Illinois who tell me that for X amt of money they can fix computer bugs and that's where he lost me because it was not consistent with how the first person diagnosed the problem. Seemed suspicious so I ended the call.

I'm concerned now because they had access to my mac book while on the phone.

Holding the shift key while opening Safari helped and everything seems the way it was before.

These people were scammers. If you gave them remote access to your computer, it should be considered to be compromised. You'll need to erase the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch. Note that they couldn't have gained remote access to your computer unless you did something to give it to them.

I have the same problem. First, I stopped the computer but this didn't work.

Also tried restarting with shift button but Safari is already on my screen, it's not possible to restart form blank.

Also disconnected the LAN cable en reconnected again, didn't work also.

Looked for help on the internet (on another computer) and found someone who could help me, if I first would send him 5 dollar (by Visa). It's obvious that somebody is earning a lot of money this way... It seemed reliable at first site, because a wellknown US university was in the www-sitename. I was talking to the person who had inflicted this, **** 😠

Can somebody around here please help me?
